Integrated Counselling and Art Therapy
Hi, I’m Maura and I help people who are struggling with stress, emotional and psychological difficulties through art making. By introducing creativity, clients can express their experiences and issues and find words to talk about them. A new perspective can allows insights to emerge and empowers clients to find ways through their difficulties.
Being genuinely kind and compassionalte with my clients is very important to me and I am led by the needs and preferences of my clients. The creative counselling approach I take integrates visual media, art making, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness and helping clients become their own therapists. The art making process doesn’t require ‘artistic’ ability – it is simply working with art materials and can be as simple as drawing a line.
