Michael Dowling (IACP)

Psychotherapy

Approaches: Humanistic, person-centred, psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT.

Michael’s approach to each client is different, and he believes that the course of therapy will be led by the feelings, experiences and circumstances of the client. He believes in the client’s capacity for self-direction and their tendency towards what is healthy for them, and aims to create a warm, safe and confidential environment in which this will be possible.

Michael believes that change is always possible, and that ways can be found to work with our habits, our fears and our past choices. He works on a one to one basis with issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, and self esteem and has particular experience with trauma, child sexual abuse and PTSD.

Michael has completed a four year BA course in counselling and psychotherapy and is a fully accredited member of the IACP with seven years clinical experience.

Approaches: Humanistic, person-centred, psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT.
