My name is Sean Lonergan and I am a CBT therapist with 10 years experience working with adults. You can contact me to arrange a consultation on 085 7431220 and firstname.lastname@example.org.
CBT is a recommended and approved evidence based treatment for treating mental health difficulties. The aim of treatment is to collaboratively work together with clients to help them overcome the cognitive (thinking), behavioural (actions) and emotional difficulties that maintain their ongoing difficulties. I have worked in mental health services for 15 years in the UK and have experience of helping clients towards recovery, enhance and develop their coping skills and make positive changes to overcome their distress. I aim to provide a safe, confidential and a non-judgemental environment to allow clients to express their personal difficulties, fears, expectations and hopes. I encourage feedback to help me better understand how I can help most effectively.
I am trained and accredited to help clients presenting with mild to severe mental health difficulties in primary care including: depression, generalised anxiety (excessive uncontrollable worrying), Social Anxiety, Panic with and without agoraphobia (Fear of experiencing a panic attack in specific situations), Health Anxiety (Prolonged uncontrollable worry of getting and potentially having a terminal illness), Specific phobias including emetophobia (Fear of vomiting or witnessing others vomit), OCD, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), Single incident PTSD separate from long term abuse involving multiple traumatic incidents, addiction counselling, performance anxiety and relationship difficulties.
